patBOT v2.0

July 8th, 2007 Posted in Humorous Conversations, Planet COSI

I was having a conversation with Ryan today, and I told him to visit this one site. We established that the site was displaying differently in his browser due to his Mozilla Firefox Adblock plugin, so he wasn’t seeing the funny content that I wanted to show him. He then accused me of being a bot trying to trick him into disabling Adblock.

Ryan: so I need to turn off adblock?
Ryan: yeah sure Patbot
Ryan: just what you want me to do
Ryan: turn off adblock and get virus!
Ryan: >=[ NOT TODAY LITTLE BUDDY
Me: if I were a bot trying to trick you, I’d say something more along the lines of…

Patbot: Hello, I am not a bot! Please check out my pictures page for a description. I hope you don’t mind the pictures of me in my new bathing suit (it’s a bikini!!!!)… all my other pictures were on my old computer which is broken, so I only have that one album right now. Oh, you will need to disable your antivirus to follow the page, for some reason my webhost is having problems with certain antivirus programs (hey, they’re cheap, what can I tell ya? I’ll try have that fixed really soon, I know it’s an inconvenience)
Patbot: Oh, I almost forgot to give you the link! Don’t click!!!! Just type in your browser http://www.myfreebikinipictures.com/download.exe

I would like to comment that “Don’t click!!!! Just type in your browser” was taken from SPAM e-mails that I constantly receive which consist of no text but an image containing the message (so that SPAM filters cannot read the contents of the message since they’re represented graphically). The majority of the bot message was taken from (un)popular, (in)famous bots on the Yahoo Messenger service. The excuse of not having other pictures due to an old computer not working is derived from the common excuse creeps on Yahoo who pose as other-aged and other-gendered individuals use (they ask you if you have a pic, you respond “uh, I don’t know, do you?”, and they say “no, sorry, it was on my old computer that crashed… I promise I’ll send you one in a couple days!!!!!”).
